Visit 1 to the Netherlands: 1912 (summer)
- The Hague: Scheveningen.
- Alma stayed in Hotel Kurhaus.
- Together with: Anna Justine Mahler (Gucki) (1904-1988) and Lilly Lieser (1875-1943).
- Alma met Joseph Fraenkel (1867-1920) in Scheveningen who was still interested in her. Oskar Kokoschka (1886-1980) knew nothing about this meeting.
- Oskar Kokoschka (1886-1980) is asked to make a death mask from Gustav Mahler (1860-1911). He falls in love with Alma Mahler (1879-1964). Oskar Kokoschka (1886-1980) is still an unknown writer and painter at that time.Alma admires the work of the painter and becomes his model. Alma does everything to promote the work of her deceased husband, something that Oskar can not handle. He feels that he must compete with a deceased person for the love of a woman. It also erupts several times. Alma is also jealous when Oskar paints other women and at one point even forces him to destroy a painting that he has made on behalf of a friend. At one point he wants to marry Alma and he arranges everything for the wedding. After her stay in Scheveningen, Alma Mahler (1879-1964) moves to Berlin, where she moves in with Walter Gropius (1883-1969), with whom she already had a relationship. Eventually Oskar Kokoschka (1886-1980) leaves for Berlin to visit her. It comes to a confrontation with Walter Gropius and Alma eventually chooses Oskar Kokoschka, with whom she travels to Italy.
