  • Notes: According to Alma Mahler’s memoires the purpose of the extraordinary concert was to present the unknown Hungarian born pianist and composer Joseph Weiss (1864-1945), whom Mahler had met privately and admired. However, during the general rehearsal on sunday morning, Mahler and Weiss quarreled on tempi markings and the latter left the rehearsal and cancelled the concert. The same afternoon Yolanda Mero (1887-1963) was engaged, but the following morning she fell ill, and only at noon did Paolo Gallico (1868-1955) agree to replace her, although he was not given a rehearsal
